Reimagining conflict as a catalyst for change

About
Chrysalis creates opportunities for empowering of self and recognition of the other.
Two Keys to Transformative Mediation: Empowerment and Recognition
The transformative approach to mediation does not seek resolution of the immediate problem, but rather, seeks the empowerment and mutual recognition of the parties involved. Empowerment, according to Bush and Folger, means enabling the parties to define their own issues and to seek solutions on their own. Recognition means enabling the parties to see and understand the other person's point of view -- to understand how they define the problem and why they seek the solution that they do. (Seeing and understanding, it should be noted, do not constitute agreement with those views.) Often, empowerment and recognition pave the way for a mutually agreeable settlement, but that is only a secondary effect.

Transforming conflict is an opportunities
for growth, mutual respect and compassionate listening and living.

Chrysalis Women
We all began as little girls...Camille S. Turner
Crisis, Trauma and the splintering of Self
A specialization: Chrysalis Women Clientele

A project focusing on the daily experiences of women and girls who experienced sexual, intergenerational, cultural, religious and historical trauma and the splintering of self that occurs throughout their lives. It is also a clarion call to action, compassionate listening and advocacy for the people that love them, the organization that seeks to support them and most importantly, to my sisters themselves, women, to put their bodies, minds and souls back together again and create new narratives, new ways of being fully human and fully themselves.

Narrative Mediator/Trauma Informed Program Consultant

Any individual, couple, or group that find themselves entrenched
in old narratives of pain, trauma, disputes and misunderstandings, and who seeks to experience the freedom of seeing themselves and others in transformative ways, will begin to see the conflict and trauma in transformative ways. Its not the conflict but the narrative we assign to the conflict.
